I always welcome visits to my studio in Tryon, North Carolina. If you would like to visit and see my work click the Find Out More button below.
A native Californian, I grew up on an island in the San Francisco Bay and have been an artist my whole life. I studied at the California College of Arts and Crafts and earned my fine art degree at California State University Sacramento. I have a background in illustration as well as fine art. For many years I lived in Utah and now reside in Tryon, North Carolina.
I create imagined landscapes that echo the geology and colors of the western landscape, embracing the balance between land and sky and celebrating the rich shapes, colors and textures of that immeasurable place.
I'm inspired by open, uncluttered landscapes, being able to see to the horizon. I find inspiration in the subtlety of nature, in the little things that are missed unless we really pay attention. I am inspired by the humbling vastness of vistas so expansive I can see the curvature of the earth and I am as equally inspired by finding the tiny tracks of a wren on the wet ground outside my studio.
